How to solve the problem of hook rotation?
The reasons for the hook rotation
The larger the crane, the higher its lifting height, that is, the longer the steel wire rope between the top pulley block of the boom and the hook,
and the greater the possibility of the hook rotating.
It is easier for the hook to rotate when the hook wire rope is wound in an odd-numbered match than an even-numbered match. Moreover,
the fewer the number of matches of the wire rope wound, the greater the possibility of the hook rotating.
The greater the weight that a single steel wire rope bears, the greater the possibility that the hook will rotate.
The smaller the shape and size of the hook assembly and the size of its pulley, the greater the possibility of the hook rotating.
If the speed of lifting and lowering the hook of the crane is not stable, especially when the heavy object is lifted off the ground,
the possibility of the hook rotating will increase.
The handling method after the hook rotates
When the load is not too high from the ground and the crane's function allows, the load can be lowered by the luffing method, and then the hook
should be straightened.
If the heavy object has been lifted very high off the ground, then the only way is to get close to nearby buildings to straighten the hook.
After the hook rotates, the torque within the steel wire rope should be released.
The detailed method is as follows: Place the hook on the ground, untie the fixed end of the steel wire rope, and take the number of rotations m of the
hook multiplied by the matching number n of the steel wire rope as the base k(which can be increased or decreased according to the actual situation). Roll
the end of the steel wire rope in the opposite direction of the lay direction of the steel wire rope strands to release the torque, and then reinstall the fixed
end. Raise the boom to the maximum elevation Angle and repeat the lifting and lowering of the hook several times to check the effect. You can repeat
the above steps until the hook is not messed up.
