Valeo and Panhub jointly developed an efficient integrated axial flux generator system

On April 23rd, the first day of the Shanghai Auto Show, Valeo, an international automotive parts giant, and Panhu Power jointly announced that they would jointly develop a new generation of axial flux generators. This will be a breakthrough in the field of compact, lightweight and efficient electric powertrain design. This two-in-one generator system jointly developed by both parties seamlessly integrates the motor and inverter into a highly compact and scalable solution. Its architecture will be applicable to all types of electric vehicles, especially extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), extending the driving range without increasing weight or cost.

This collaboration combines Panhub Power's expertise in axial flux structures with Valeo's long-term leading position in inverters, power electronics and system integration. Both sides aim to accelerate the application of innovative solutions, especially in the field of extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).

Under the same power output, the size and weight are reduced by up to 50%, achieving a more compact and lightweight integration.

Achieve a 97% high efficiency within the main operating range of the generator, and obtain efficient energy utilization under actual driving conditions.

Thanks to the application of direct engine connection technology, the system assembly has been further simplified, eliminating the need for reducers and allowing the inverter to be plug-and-play.
