It should be stored in a dry indoor area. Those who have no choice but to park outdoors should choose a flat ground and lay wooden boards on it. Cover it with a tarpaulin after parking.

(2) Before long-term storage, the machinery must be maintained, damaged parts repaired, and thoroughly cleaned to keep it in good technical condition.

(3) The arrangement and layout at the parking area should ensure that the entry and exit of any single machine are not affected by other machines.

(4) The fuel control lever of the machinery should be set to idle position, and all control levers should be placed in neutral position.

(5) Engine storage. ① Drain the cooling water from the engine. ② Change the engine oil. New engine oil is usually neutral and will not corrode the metal parts of the engine. ③ Fill the fuel tank with diesel to prevent it from rusting. If conditions permit, preservatives should also be added. During the shutdown period, the engine should be started once a month to make the machinery travel a short distance, so as to form a new oil film at the lubrication points of each part and prevent rust. It should be noted that the cooling water should be filled up before starting and drained completely at the end.

(6) Storage of storage batteries. The battery should be removed and placed in a dry and frost-proof area. To keep its surface clean and dry, it is strictly forbidden to place conductive objects on the battery. When disassembling a battery, first cut off the negative terminal wire, and then cut off the positive terminal wire. When installing, connect the positive wire first and then the negative wire. Since the electrical systems of construction machinery are all grounded at the negative terminal, this is to prevent short circuits when disassembling and assembling the battery. Lead-acid batteries should be charged once a month.

(7) Rust prevention treatment. Before storage, it should be determined whether to repair by touch-up painting or by re-painting the entire machine based on the size of the area where the anti-rust paint on the outer surface has peeled off. For the working devices of construction machinery, such as the screed of a paver, the bucket of a loader, and the scraper of a motor grader, the rust prevention method for the exposed metal parts is to apply grease.
