How to use and maintain an engine correctly
1. Grind: that is, to break in
This is the foundation for extending the service life. Whether it is a new car or an engine that has undergone major overhauls, it must be run-in in accordance with the regulations before it can be put into normal operation.
2. Clean: This refers to clean oil, clean water, clean air and clean body
Diesel and gasoline are the main fuels for engines. If diesel and gasoline are impure, they will cause wear on the precision mating blocks, increase the mating clearance, resulting in oil leakage, dripping, reduced fuel supply pressure, enlarged clearance, and even serious faults such as oil passage blockage, shaft seizing and bearing burning. If the air contains a large amount of dust, it will accelerate the wear of cylinder liners, pistons and piston rings. If the cooling water is not pure, it will cause scale to clog the cooling system, hindering the engine's heat dissipation. The lubrication conditions will also be poor, and the engine body will wear out severely. If the surface of the machine is not clean, it will cause corrosion on the surface and shorten the service life.
3. Sufficient: that is, sufficient oil, sufficient water and sufficient air
If the supply of diesel, gasoline and air is not timely or interrupted, problems such as difficult starting, poor combustion, reduced power and abnormal engine operation will occur. If the supply of engine oil is insufficient or interrupted, it will cause poor lubrication of the engine, severe wear of the engine block, and even lead to bearing seizure. If the cooling water is insufficient, the machine temperature will be too high, the power will decrease, the wear will increase, and the service life will be shortened.
4. Check: That is, frequently inspect the fastening parts
Due to the influence of vibration, shock and uneven load during the operation of diesel and gasoline engines, bolts and nuts are prone to loosening. All the adjusting bolts of each part should also be inspected to avoid accidents that may damage the machine body due to loosening.
5. Adjustment: That is, the valve clearance, valve timing, fuel injection advance Angle, fuel injection pressure and ignition timing of diesel or gasoline engines should all be checked and adjusted in a timely manner.
Only by ensuring that the engine is always in good technical condition can fuel be saved and its service life be prolonged.
6. Use: That is, to use the engine correctly
Before driving, all bearing shells and other lubrication points should be lubricated. After starting, wait until the water temperature reaches 40℃-50℃ before putting it into operation. It is strictly prohibited to operate under overload or at low speed for a long time. Before shutting down, the load should be removed first to reduce the rotational speed. After parking in winter, the coolant should be drained when the water temperature drops to 40℃-50℃, except for engines that have been filled with antifreeze. Regular maintenance of the engine should be carried out on a regular basis to ensure that the machine always operates in good condition. Be diligent in observation and inspection. Once any malfunction is found, it should be eliminated promptly.
