How to repair damaged forklift mast?
Repair of damaged mast
(1) Repair of gantry deformation: Gantry deformation can be eliminated by correction methods. When the bending and twisting deformation is relatively small, the cold correction method with static load is allowed for correction. When the bending and twisting deformation is too large and difficult to correct by cold pressing, heating correction can be adopted. During heating, the heating area should be minimized as much as possible. The heating temperature generally should not exceed 700℃, and it should be cooled slowly to avoid increasing brittleness.
(2) Repair of gantry cracks: If cracks are found during inspection, they should be repaired.
Before repair, the gantry should be corrected to maintain its inherent straightness.
2) Grind the cracked area until a metallic luster is exposed, then carefully inspect to determine the crack boundary. Drill a limit hole with a diameter of 5 to 8mm 10mm extending from the boundary.
3) Use a grinding wheel or the like to grind out the weld bead groove at the crack.
4) When performing fill welding, it is best to use a direct current reverse polarity arc welding. The arc should be as short as possible, with a electrode diameter of 4mm and a current of approximately 210-240A. When welding, the electrode should be inclined 20°-30° towards the direction of movement. The filling welding work starts from the drilling of the through hole and continues until the other end of the crack, and welding repair is also carried out on the reverse side. The height of the weld seam should not exceed 1-2mm from the base plane. The ambient temperature during welding should be above 0℃.
