The uses of this type of excavator are diverse. It can be equipped with various working devices to perform various forms of overhead excavation, inversion and soil and rock loading work. Single-bucket excavators can be classified according to their usability, bucket volume, power working device and traveling device. According to the bucket volume classification, it can be divided into four categories. Small (with a bucket capacity generally less than 1.3 meters), medium (with a bucket capacity of 1 to 5.3 meters), large (with a bucket capacity of 5 to 15.3 meters) and giant (with a bucket capacity exceeding 15.3 meters). According to the form of driving power, it can be divided into three types: electric drive, internal combustion drive and compound drive. Compound drives are mostly diesel engines - hydraulic drives. According to the differences in the walking support devices, they can be classified into rail type, track type, tire type and step type.
