Allison continues to deepen its presence in the Chinese market and showcased its new generation of hydraulic fracturing gearboxes at the 23rd CIPPE Exhibition

Beijing, June 9, 2023 - On the first day of the 23rd China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE), Allison Transmission Company officially announced the launch of the new generation of hydraulic fracturing transmission FracTran® in China. FracTran® is a product specifically designed for oil and gas field fracturing scenarios. Its design concept is to meet the demanding oil and gas field scenarios worldwide, providing customers with maximum productivity and reliable, powerful pressure resistance performance.

During the 2023 CIPPE, Brian Geiselhart, the Executive Director of Sales for Allison Transmission in the Asia-Pacific region, and Kartik Ramanan, the Executive Director of Global Off-road and Service Engineering, attended the media exchange meeting and introduced Allison's development in the commercial vehicle sector and its business layout in China. And emphasized the long-term commitment to the Chinese market.

The development of the new generation of FracTran® began in 2018, integrating feedback and suggestions from a wide range of customers with the product condition information analysis accumulated by Allison over decades in global oilfield applications. Mr. Randick described this fracturing gearbox as a transformative product that can meet the constantly changing market demands and is also a future-oriented product.

FracTran® features a first-class power configuration and outstanding durability. By achieving higher power capacity and longer uptime of the equipment, it reduces the total cost of ownership, aiming to maximize the productivity and sustainable working ability of customers.

The rated input total power of FracTran® is 3,300 horsepower, and the input torque is 13,558 Newton-meters. In fact, the maximum input reserve total power of this product can reach 3,500 horsepower. FracTran® is equipped with eight gears and offers a variety of speed ratio options to meet the diverse needs of customers.

As a durable product, FracTran® has a service life of up to 25,000 hours, and it can enter a second service life simply by replacing the vulnerable parts. FracTran® is equipped with advanced pre-diagnostic functions to monitor various operating parameters, including providing filter and transmission oil life diagnosis, control modules installed on the transmission, torsional vibration diagnosis, and an on-board remote information system.

In 2022, Allison transmissions achieved strong growth in both on-road and off-road end markets worldwide. In the Chinese market, Allison Transmission achieved a 59% increase in net sales, thanks to the strong export market for public buses and the growth of the wide-body mining dump truck market in China.
