To prevent excavators from getting sick less often, these habits must not be maintained

Why is it necessary to preheat thoroughly

Before starting an excavator, it needs to be fully preheated. In the north and most parts of the country, the freezing period begins after November, and many machine owners start to face the problem of difficulty in starting their machines. Before the engine is preheated, the clearances between its components are relatively large, and the engine oil sinks to the bottom. After starting the vehicle, it must be preheated for a period of time. At the same time, the oil pump starts to work, delivering engine oil to the parts that need lubrication. Engine oil can only circulate to the main parts after the engine starts. If you rush to rev the engine and accelerate it at this time, the temperature will rise rapidly, which will increase the wear of the components. Similarly, when the hydraulic oil temperature is low, rapid operation may cause damage to the hydraulic device.

PS: The best preheating time in winter is 15 to 20 minutes.

Warm-up method

1. Automatic warm-up steps

A. In the driver-specific adjustment function of the display screen, find the second page of "Automatic Warm-up".

B. Then, in the time display mode, press the selection switch and press the wiper switch (▼) to reach the automatic warm-up page.

C. Finally, press the selector switch to enter and switch on/off to start the automatic warm-up.

2. Manual warm-up steps

A. Start the engine and run it at low speed for 5 to 10 minutes. At the same time, during the engine preheating process, observe whether the oil warning light goes out, whether the battery indicator light goes out, and whether the engine sound and exhaust color are normal.

B. Run the engine at medium speed to operate the bucket for preheating. Then, increase the engine speed to the maximum, allowing the bucket and bucket lever to work continuously for 5 minutes to preheat and rotate left and right. Finally, rotate the tracks on one side of the trolley to preheat the left and right traveling motors respectively.

(PS: The 60 and 75 excavators do not have an automatic preheating function and need to be preheated manually.)

Rotate or brake too hard

Violent rotation or excessive braking during operation can easily cause damage to the braking hydraulic system and the turntable bearings.

Start with an open flame for combustion assistance

Do not remove the air filter. Dip cotton yarn in diesel oil, light it and place it in the intake pipe as an igniter to assist in ignition and start. In this way, during the start-up process, the dusty air from the outside will be directly drawn into the cylinder without filtration, causing abnormal wear of parts such as the piston and cylinder. It will also cause the diesel engine to work roughly and damage the machine.

Turn off the engine as soon as it stops

The correct process for shutting down

Idle for 5 to 10 minutes, especially for diesel engines with turbocharging, as the turbine speed is very high at this time, reaching over 100,000 revolutions per minute. If the engine is immediately turned off, the oil pump will stop working, but the turbine is still running at high speed due to inertia and the temperature is still very high. The turbine shaft lacks oil lubrication and cooling. If this happens frequently, it will lead to premature damage of the turbine shaft. So it should be idled for a while and then turned off after the temperature drops.

The oil-water separator does not release water

If the oil-water separator is not drained of water every day, it may fail to start due to excessive moisture in the diesel. Therefore, the oil-water separator should be inspected every day. When the red float of the oil-water separator is in the middle, the water release bolt at the bottom of the oil-water separator should be loosened in time to drain the water.

The butter is not applied on time

If the excavator is not greased on time, the consequences will be very serious:

Increase wear and tear

Failure to add grease on time will cause the grease seal to fail to perform its sealing function, and may even lead to breakage, increasing the wear between friction parts (such as bushings, pins, etc.) and reducing its service life. The machine works as a whole, which will also increase the wear and tear of other components.

2. Affect the accuracy of operation

It affects the accuracy of operation and reduces business efficiency. If the gap between the buckets of an excavator increases, it will be difficult to carry out precise leveling, "sweeping" and other operations. Work that can be completed in one go will need to be done several times.

3. Component wear and fracture

If the grease of the excavator's traveling device is not adjusted in time, it is easy for the tracks to come apart or for other components to wear out severely and break.

The excavator was parked randomly

Excavators are parked randomly, regardless of whether the terrain is flat or not. If the parking location has a steep slope, it will cause insufficient oil pressure in the excavator. Over time, this will lead to overheating of the engine.

Remember to avoid the above points, and the excavator will be less prone to illness, allowing you to work more at ease.
