Construction waste can no longer be content with landfill and piling up. Instead, it should be processed into various types of recycled products such as recycled road materials, recycled wall materials, and recycled concrete aggregates, achieving a "magnificent transformation".
From construction sites to factories, it is no longer "waste"
Over the past few decades, the destination of construction waste has been either open-air piling up or landfill. However, as time goes by, the problem of construction waste occupying land and polluting the environment has become increasingly prominent. Moreover, construction waste is not completely useless waste. Its concrete blocks, rocks, bricks, steel bars, etc. can all be reused after being recycled.
Rather than transporting construction waste from construction sites to landfills for waste, it is better to transport it to construction waste treatment plants for resource recycling and reuse. Generally speaking, construction waste is often mixed with some household garbage and other impurities. In response to this characteristic, Nanfang Road Machinery's comprehensive solution for the entire industrial chain of construction waste resource utilization adopts multi-stage crushing, screening, and impurity removal processes to purify the aggregates and make them meet the quality standards for subsequent applications.
Meanwhile, to ensure that production does not affect the surrounding residents, Nanfang Road Machinery's overall solution for the full industrial chain of construction waste resource utilization has implemented multiple environmental protection designs such as a spray cleaning system, an offline dust cleaning pulse dust removal system, and a noise reduction system. This has achieved a dust particle concentration on the production line not exceeding 10mg/m³ and a noise level not exceeding 55 decibels.

From feeding to discharging, it has been reshaped and reborn
The excavator pours the construction waste into the vibrating feeder and conveys it to the crusher for rough crushing. Subsequently, the construction waste mixture is processed through magnetic separators, positive pressure light material separation equipment, and manual picking platforms to remove impurities such as steel bars, plastics, wood chips, and paper.
To ensure that the impurity rate of the finished aggregates is less than 1%, Nanfang Road Machinery's overall solution for the entire industrial chain of construction waste sets up the material screening system into three levels according to the particle size of aggregates required by most projects. For aggregates larger than 5mm, negative pressure impurity removal is carried out to further purify the aggregates. At the same time, materials larger than 25mm are returned to the impact crusher and, through repeated rotational strikes, are transformed into high-quality recycled aggregates.
Aggregates of different particle sizes have different uses. Recycled aggregates of different particle sizes are separately fed into the finished product silo, and then mixed in proportion for subsequent applications.

Sand and gravel are one of the indispensable materials in various construction projects. Whether it is the paving of the pavement base, the preparation of dry-mixed mortar, or the production of concrete and bricks, sand and gravel aggregates are indispensable in them to play the role of framework and filling. However, natural sand and gravel resources are limited, and excessive mining will bring ecological risks. Recycled aggregates can be used in various fields as substitutes for sand and gravel under the premise of meeting technical standards.
Most recycled aggregates can be directly used in the base layer, subbase layer and leveling layer of permeable pavement, etc. For recycled aggregates from construction waste with good water absorption, recycled graded soil and organic soil, they can be applied to the micro-terrain transformation of parks, mountain-building landscaping, and recycled soil, etc., to better serve the construction of "urban green lungs".
The graded recycled aggregates of brick and tile types can be directly used for the laying of the base layer of certain lake landscapes, achieving water absorption and seepage, and avoiding uneven settlement caused by the load-bearing and water absorption of the foundation. It can also be used in the processing of water-stabilized mixtures. The recycled water-stabilized materials produced can be used in the construction of base stabilized soil for high-grade highways, urban roads, squares and airports.
In addition, recycled aggregates can be used in the production of commercial concrete, and recycled concrete can be widely applied in most non-structural load-bearing projects, such as roadbeds and pavements. Recycled fine aggregates can also be used to prepare recycled mortars, such as plastering mortars, non-load-bearing masonry mortars and road base materials.
As the resourceful disposal of construction waste has become a consensus among the decision-making level, policies on the treatment of construction waste have been frequently introduced in various regions. From being ignored to being highly sought after, the construction waste resource utilization industry is becoming increasingly standardized and has a brighter future.
