Zoomlion cranes assisted in the construction of Lijiang Airport and successfully completed the first hoisting of the steel structure for the project

Recently, the third-phase expansion and renovation project of Lijiang Airport has completed several important milestones and made significant progress. Among them, with the assistance of Zoomlion cranes, the first steel structure hoist of the third-phase expansion and renovation project of Lijiang Airport was successfully hoisted, marking a significant progress in the project.

Steel structure columns are the "skeleton" of the terminal building. The newly-built T3 terminal building has a total of 144 steel structure columns, with a steel consumption of nearly 20,000 tons. Among them, the first steel structure column was hoisted with a total length of 7.8 meters, a diameter of 850 millimeters, and weighed 9 tons. The biggest challenge in this steel structure installation lies in the precise control of elevation and axis lines. The project team made early plans, scientifically deployed, and repeatedly conducted on-site analysis and simulation verification. Eventually, they decided to use Zoomlion cranes with strong lifting performance, high operational accuracy, and stable hoisting for the construction, ensuring the feasibility of the construction plan.

Zoomlion cranes are currently on site for hoisting operations

On that day, the Zoomlion crane stood majestically at the construction site. With the "lift" command given, the hoisting officially began. Steady lifting, gentle positioning, and precise installation - under the series of effortless movements of the Zoomlion crane, a steel column was smoothly lowered, and the first hoisting of the project's steel structure was safely and successfully completed.

The successful first hoisting of the above-ground steel structure components marks the official start of the above-ground steel structure construction in the West finger Corridor area of the project. The construction has fully shifted from underground structure construction to above-ground structure construction, and the main construction has entered an accelerated stage.

It is understood that the third-phase expansion and renovation project of Lijiang Airport is a key project of the "Five Networks" construction in Yunnan Province and one of the top ten key ongoing projects in Lijiang City that the Lijiang Municipal People's Government attaches great importance to. After the completion of the project, Lijiang Airport will achieve a comprehensive expansion. A new T3 terminal building will be added, 31 more aprons will be added, the runway will be extended from the current 3,000 meters to 3,500 meters, and the operational grade will be upgraded from the current 4D to 4E, capable of supporting the takeoff and landing of long-range wide-body aircraft such as A330 and B747. It is of great significance for promoting the high-quality development of the civil aviation industry in Yunnan and showcasing the unique ethnic culture and beautiful scenery of Lijiang to the world.
