On February 19th, the list of the fourth "China Source Power" competition, hosted by China Automotive News, was announced. Two products from Yuchai made the list: the YCK13 diesel engine was awarded the title of "Market Pioneer", and the Yuchai Xinlan eCVT hybrid power system was honored with the title of "Innovation Pioneer".

This year's "China Source Power" event has a broader range of evaluation indicators, including not only "hard indicators" such as application and energy consumption values, but also "soft power" such as user reputation, market sales, and brand influence. It showcases the characteristics and advantages of the participating power products from multiple perspectives.

Market Pioneer: YCK13 diesel engine

The Yuchai YCK13 diesel engine is currently a highly sought-after engine product in the national VI horsepower heavy-duty truck power market. It has a displacement of 13 liters, with output power ranging from 480 to 600 horsepower (approximately 353 to 441kW), and a maximum output torque of 2600N·m. YCK13 has carried out customized development, matching and verification for different market segments such as trunk logistics and express freight. It has undergone 18,000 bench verifications, 3 million kilometers of vehicle "three highs" calibration and 5 million kilometers of vehicle enhanced road tests. Compared with National V diesel engines, the fuel consumption of the YCK13 National VI diesel engine is reduced by 3% to 7%, and the maximum thermal efficiency reaches 50%, making it one of the mass-produced vehicle diesel engines with relatively high thermal efficiency in China.

Innovation Pioneer: eCVT Hybrid Power System

The Yuchai Xinlan 18T eCVT hybrid system is a power unit composed of an engine, dual high-speed motors and dual planetary gearshifts. It features pure electric, hybrid and engine-driven working modes, which can decouple the engine speed and vehicle speed, keeping them in the optimal working area.

This hybrid system adopts stepless speed change and multi-power source dynamic coordinated control technology to achieve torque complementarity and ensure no power interruption for the entire vehicle. Meanwhile, through modular limping and PTO function modules, the functions of vehicle limping, electric PTO and mechanical PTO can be realized, which are compatible and adaptable to various vehicle models such as public buses, highway buses, trucks and special-purpose vehicles.

At present, the Yuchai Xinlan 18T eCVT hybrid power system has been provided for the relevant models of many vehicle manufacturers. The customer's operating mileage has exceeded 30,000 kilometers, with an average fuel-saving rate of over 35%.
