17 Points to note for daily maintenance of Road Rollers during Construction, None of which can be taken lightly!

Before starting work, check each component, pipeline, screw, belt, lighting and the three liquids, etc. according to the maintenance content. For double steel wheels, check the sprinkler system; for rubber wheels, check the chain, tire pressure, etc.

2. Do not wear sandals, slippers or shorts to work to avoid accidental burns or injuries from being hit.

3. Before starting, check if there are any obstacles or potential safety hazards around the machine. Notify people near the equipment to move away. Place the handle in the middle position and sound the horn three times as a warning.

4. When starting, if the engine fails to start within 15 seconds, it should be stopped for half a minute before restarting. If it fails to start for three consecutive times, the cause should be checked and the fault eliminated before restarting.

After starting, the engine should idle for a while until the water temperature reaches around 50 degrees before driving. The same applies when turning off the engine. Let it idle for a few minutes before turning it off.

6. Before the roller compors the road, pay attention to checking the cleanliness of the wheels.

7. When the roller is in operation, it should try to keep driving in a straight line. Do not apply emergency braking on an uncompacted road surface. Try to extend the length of the compacted road surface as much as possible, avoid excessive steering, and prohibit turning in place or making sharp turns.

8. When the steel wheel is in motion, it must not vibrate on the spot. It should start first and then vibrate. When it stops, it must stop vibrating first and then come to a stop.

9. When the roller is in motion, any direction change or speed change must be carried out after the machine has stopped.

10. When the rubber wheel is compacting the water stabilizer, determine whether it is necessary to replenish water for compaction based on the on-site conditions.

When working on a slope, the speed should be as low as possible. It is strictly prohibited to drive on a cross slope greater than 20%.

When multiple road rollers are in operation, the longitudinal distance should be maintained at more than 3 meters, and the transverse distance can be between 0.5 and 1 meter.

13. It is strictly prohibited to use a road roller to tow other equipment.

When the waiting time for materials after compaction is long and the machine needs to be stopped, it should be stopped backward as much as possible and longitudinally on the lower side of the road surface. It is not allowed to stop horizontally in a row.

15. When moving to a new location, traffic rules should be followed. Steel wheels must travel at a low speed when encountering hard roads. If the distance is too long, they should be transported by flatbed trucks. The rollers must be fixed and locked. When getting on a flatbed truck in rainy weather, be careful to prevent the wheels from slipping.

After the machine stops, it should be parked on a flat and solid ground. It must not be parked at the edge of the roadbed. If it needs to be parked on a slope, stones or wooden blocks should be tightly stuffed under the wheels and reflective cones should be placed.

When a road roller is parked for a long time, it should be cleaned and maintained regularly. The battery should be removed, the road roller should be fixed, and rain protection measures should be taken.
