The state strongly supports the renewal of construction machinery equipment, and the hub "double power" is fully driving the development of "new quality productivity".

Since The State Council issued the "Action Plan for Promoting Large-scale Equipment Renewal and Trade-in of Consumer Goods" in mid-March, from the central to local levels, efforts to promote large-scale equipment renewal and trade-in of consumer goods have been implemented step by step.

Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the "Implementation Plan for Promoting the Renewal of Construction and Municipal Infrastructure Equipment", proposing to "update and phase out construction machinery and equipment that have been in use for more than 10 years, are highly polluting, energy-consuming, severely aged and worn, and technologically backward, including excavators, cranes, loaders, concrete mixers, elevators, bulldozers and other equipment (vehicles)."

For the construction machinery industry, the launch of this round of equipment replacement "policy support package" can be regarded as a major boost like "timely rain after a long drought".

According to relevant institutions' estimates, excavators, as the largest subcategory of construction machinery, are expected to have a total of nearly 2 million units in use over the next 10 years. The number of excavators with standards of National II and below is 388,000 respectively, accounting for 19.79%. The existing market is huge. For other high-selling construction machinery such as loaders, forklifts, cranes and road machinery, the number of units in use that meet the National II and below standards is 362,000, 757,000 and 34,000 respectively, accounting for 37.84%, 13.35% and 23.78% of the total in use in 2023. With the implementation of the large-scale equipment renewal policy, a large number of demands for "replacing the old with the new" will be released.

In response to the specific requirements of "equipment renewal", the "Implementation Plan" particularly emphasizes "encouraging the purchase and renewal of new energy and new technology construction machinery equipment". In line with the overall requirements of the national "dual carbon" strategy and the development of "new quality productivity", the supply of new energy products in construction machinery is becoming increasingly abundant, and the market share of electric products is rapidly increasing.
