The trencher moves back and forth on the construction road surface to dig trenches, discharge debris and backfill. By applying intelligent automatic construction technology, through trenching torque feedback, sensing the hardness of the stratum, and automatically matching the walking speed, efficient construction can be achieved... This is the working scene of laying pipelines on the road outside the factory building of XCMG Foundation's new base.

The pipeline laying construction carried out at the new base is the XCMG XMT550 trencher, which is also the first professional equipment in China used for trenching curb stones, auxiliary highway repair, and laying small-diameter communication and power supply pipelines in shallow strata.

The XMT550 trencher is driven by a first-class domestic brand axle for movement, featuring strong traction, stable movement, small turning radius, and flexible maneuverability in narrow Spaces. The trenching depth can reach up to 660mm, and the trenching width device is modular, which can achieve various trenching widths and has extremely strong adaptability to working conditions.

The new base of XCMG Foundation has a single trench length of about 16 meters, with a total of 8 trenches. When the XCMG XMT550 trencher is in operation, it only needs to set the route, and the trencher can automatically complete the trenching operation, which is worry-free and labor-saving. Facing hardened roads, the construction efficiency of XCMG trencher reaches 80-100 meters per hour, and a single trenching operation is completed in just over ten minutes.

Compared with the small-diameter pipeline laying construction method of excavators, the XCMG XMT550 trencher has significant advantages in trenching efficiency, trenching quality and impact on the surrounding environment without damaging the road surface and maximizing cost savings. During the construction on a concrete floor with a hardness of 40MPa, the XCMG trencher was successfully completed on the first attempt. The quality of the trenching was high, and the first construction was highly praised by the construction team for its construction quality.
